William H. Harris Jr., Background
Mr. Harris was the first born of seven to Mabel and William Sr. in 1918. To family and close friends he was known as Hodges, and the story of his early life in Petersburg, Va., college years, military service, and 40 years in the NYC school system is the purpose of this site.

Mission Statement
“Concieve, believe, achieve” was the theme of Mr. Harris' message to the youth entrusted to his care and direction. The mission of this website is to perpetuate that message, celebrate his life, and promote the concepts, faith, and fortitude that were central to driving Mr. Harris toward his vision of excellence in education.
